Merryn

Merryn is the mascot for pastry brand Ginsters. She was introduced in 2023 as part of Ginsters' 'Taste the Effort' campaign. She is a farmer who is very passionate about growing vegetables for Ginsters. In her first ad, she says 'to say I'm obsessed with veg? I just call it dedication really' which is shown throughout her TV and radio spots. She also states that she gets attached to the veg but 'at the end of the day, if you love something, you gotta let it go'. She is then handed a Ginsters Cornish pasty which cheers her up and she says 'ooh, hello' to. At the end of all the ads, she sings 'Ginsters Taste the Effort' apart from one of her radio ads. In the TV ad, she appeared dressed as a scarecrow to scare crows away and also talked to some veg over a walkie talkie, showing her dedication to growing the best veg. She has also appeared in three radio ads alongside a male interviewer. In the first ad, the interviewer says 'Merryn!' before she shushes him twice and tells him that 'the swedes are sleeping'. The man proceeds to interview Merryn in a whispering voice. Later in the ad, she gets angry at the interviewer for waking the swedes and calls him 'Mr Noisy'. This is the only ad where Merryn doesn't sing 'Ginsters Taste the Effort', as she begins in the standard voice before the interviewer shushes her and she finishes the slogan in a whispering voice. Her other radio ads feature her in a stag costume to keep crows away from her onions and talking to her potatoes over a walkie talkie.
