The Kool-Aid Man is the main mascot for the beverage brand Kool-Aid. He is depicted as a six foot tall pitcher of Kool-Aid with a smiley face on him. In commercials, he is usually shown shouting the catchphrase, "Oh yeah!"

History

The Kool-Aid man was conceived in 1974 after as the successor to the lesser known "Pitcher Man," made in 1954. The first commercials he appeared followed a reoccuring format where children would yell "Hey, Kool-Aid," causing the Kool-Aid Man to burst through any obstacles, shout "Oh Yeah!" and pour the children Kool-Aid. The Kool-Aid man attained pop culture status in the 1980s. In 1994, the live-action Kool-Aid was replaced in favor for a CGI generated depiction until 2009, where the live-action version had returned.
