Hippo and Duck are the mascots of British bed manufacturer Silentnight. They first appeared in 1986.

Hippo is depicted as a male hippopotamus wearing blue and white striped pyjamas whilst Duck is depicted as female and has yellow duckling feathers, despite being an adult. They both speak in Lancashire accents, but sometimes they were mute.

Before Hippo and Duck mascots were created for the Silentnight brand, there was none although there was already a mascot back in 1982 that features 2 sheep puppets that were named ''Basil'' and his friend ''Barry,'' but these mascots didn't last long.

During their first appearances in 1986 and 1989, Hippo and Duck originally appeared in a realistic, live-action form to promote the ''Ultimate Sleep System,'' although their animated counterparts only appeared in merchandise and the logo itself.

Throughout the years Hippo and Duck became completely animated in one of the adverts that first aired in 2001, Hippo and Duck are seen preparing to go to bed and describe what the beds Silentnight have and what is in the mattresses. An advert in 2003 for "My First Bed", featured Hippo having two sons named Hugo and Henry, whilst Duck has a daughter named Dee-Dee. At the end of the adverts, Hippo will say "Sleep tight", and Duck says "Have a silent night".

In these adverts, Hippo was voiced by Clive Rowe and Duck was voiced by Jane Horrocks.

Hippo and Duck originally appeared in a realistic live-action design, but later appeared in 2D animated characters, sometimes appearing in CGI. The animaton was traditional, but was switched to computer-drawn in 2010, the computer-drawn mascots also appeared in a promotional video of selected Miracoils and PocketZing.

They have also appeared in Silentnight's sponsorship adverts for ITV drama series Where the Heart Is and most UK broadcasts of American Idol that was aired on ITV2.
