Geoffrey through the years
Geoffrey the Giraffe is the mascot of toy store Toys "R" Us.
He first appeared in print adverts for Toys "R" Us (back then called Children's Bargaintown) in the 1950s under the name of Dr. G. Raffe.
He was later renamed as Geoffrey and would be seen having a wife and two children.
He was originally hand-drawn animated, before briefly becoming live-action in 2001.
In 2001, he was voiced by Jim Hanks (the brother of actor and filmmaker Tom Hanks).
In 2007, his spots were replaced by stars, and he became 2D again.
