Flat Eric is a character who appeared in adverts for Levi's and Auto Trader. He was created by Quentin Dupieux (know by his stage name of Mr. Oizo) in 1999.
He is a small creature with a dark yellow body and light yellow head and limbs, with a white muzzle and black triangle shaped nose.
He appeared in adverts for Levi's Sta-Prest One Crease Denim Clothing range. The adverts would feature Flat Eric travelling around California in a car with his friend; a man named Angel (portrayed by Philippe Petit) whilst evading the police as they are wanted criminals. Toys of Flat Eric were later released, one of which appeared in the British comedy series The Office.
In 2004, Flat Eric appeared in an advert for British automotive online marketplace Auto Trader alongside actor David Soul.
Outside of advertising, Flat Eric has appeared in music videos by Mr. Oizo, most notably "Flat Beat" (which featured in Flat Eric's Levi's adverts).
In 2019, to mark the 20th anniversary of "Flat Beat", Mr. Oizo released a limited edition toy of Flat Eric, which also came with a toy of his son Flat Eric Junior.
