Clarence was the mascot of frozen food company Birds Eye from May 2010-February 2014. He is a stuffed toy polar bear named after the company's founder Clarence Birdseye and voiced by Hollywood film star Willem Dafoe.
Clarence lived in peoples freezers and would appear when people opened their freezer door. He'd tell them what to eat, which would be Birds Eye products. His ads had creepy music reminiscent of horror movies.
In other commercials, the polar bear would turn up in other places such as a café by the Amalfi coast and a couple's living room.
In 2014, having done a "decent job", Clarence was dropped from the adverts due to the company having much bigger ambitions.
He was made and fabricated by Asylum Models and Effects, known for UK adverts.
